Introduction

The LBB4120/00 Interpreter Desk is a single-user
interpreter desk. It can accommodate up to 31
interpretation channels and the original floor language.
A maximum of six desks can be installed per booth.
4.2
Controls, connectors and
indicators
4.2.1
Top view
The top of the desk (see figure 4.1) contains the
following:
1 Beep - A key to toggle on and off audio beeps (see
section 4.4.12). This function is intended for blind
interpreters.
2 Select knob - A rotary push button to program
and operate the desk (see section 4.4).
3 LCD Display - A 264x32 pixel graphic LCD
display is used as an interactive display to program
and operate the desk (see section 4.4).
4 Preselected incoming channel - Five keys for
quick access to preselected incoming channels (see
section 4.4.5).
5 Output selection - Two keys to select the output
(see section 4.4.8). Each output has an Engaged LED
to indicate which channel is engaged.
6 Microphone connector - A connector for
connecting a pluggable microphone of type
LBB4149/xx (see chapter 6).
7 Telephone call indicator - A yellow LED that
indicates incoming phone calls from an external
telephone system (see section 4.3.5).
8 Intercom call indicator - A yellow LED that
indicates incoming external and internal intercom
calls (see section 4.3.5).
9 Message - For future use.
10 Intercom operator - For future use.
11 Treble - A rotary knob to control the high tones of
the headphones.
12 Bass - A rotary knob to control the low tones of the
headphones.
13 Headphones volume - A rotary knob to control
the volume of the headphones.

14 Loudspeaker volume - A rotary knob to control
the volume of the loudspeaker.
15 Loudspeaker - The loudspeaker is only active
when the microphones of all interpreter desks in the
same booth are off (see section 4.4.3).
16 Floor key - A key to toggle between floor and
auto-relay. Next to the key are two green LEDs that
indicate whether floor or auto-relay has been
selected (see section 4.4.4).
17 Micro - A key to toggle between microphone on
and microphone off. If the microphone is on, a red
LED ring around the key lights up. If all
microphones in the booth are off, a green LED ring
around the key lights up.
18 Mute - A key to mute the microphone as long as it is
pressed.
19 Help - A key to activate an external indicator to
request for help (see section 4.4.10).
20 Speak slowly - A key to activate an external
indicator to request the current speaker to speak
slower (see section 4.4.9).
21 Intercom chairman - For future use.
4.2.2
Left view
The left of the desk (see figure 4.2) contains the
following:
22 6.3 mm jack headphones socket - A 6.3 mm
jack socket intended for connecting stereo
headphones (see section 4.3.4).
23 Headset socket - A 5 pole 180 degrees DIN socket
intended for IEC 268-11 compliant headsets (see
section 4.3.3).
24 3.5 mm jack headphones socket - A 3.5 mm
jack socket intended for connecting stereo
headphones (see section 4.3.4).
