DHCP function
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a method used to dynamically assign
temporary numeric IP addresses as required.
When the DHCP function is enabled, the ET-7000 module will automatically load the
IP/Mask/Gateway address saved in the EEPROM if the ET-7000 cannot get a dynamic IP
address from the DHCP server on boot up. This may occur if the DHCP server is unavailable
or if the Ethernet cable/device between the module and the Host PC is damaged.
In this situation, the ET-7000 will not continue to make requests to the DHCP server until the
next reboot, even if the DHCP function is enabled.
Notes:
For correct IP/Mask/Gateway address information, please consult the network
administrator.
If you don't have a DHCP server available on the network, it is recommended that the
DHCP function be disabled.
