If the controller doesn't connect, make sure your computer is connected to the

Service port (X2) on the IRC5. Then, make sure that your computer's Ethernet port
settings have DHCP enabled. For help setting up your computer network
connection, see Windows help on TCP/IP settings.
Backup the controller (skip this step if you already saved a backup).

In the RobotStudio Controller tab, click the Backup dropdown and select Create

Backup.
Choose where to save your backup, then click OK to start the backup and wait for it

to finish.
Set the mode switch on the ABB controller to AUTO, then in the Controller tab click

Request Write Access. This allows you to edit settings on the controller.
Reset the controller to its factory default settings.

Note: The rest of this guide assumes the ABB controller is set to factory settings. If you
don't factory reset the system, you might experience errors because of conflicting
settings.
