Hardware Overview

The AUDIX Voice Power processor is an AT&T Work Group System
(WGS) based on an Intel 80386 microprocessor. There are five models that
can be used:
6386 WGS—16 or 20 MHz processor, desktop configurate ion
6386E WGS—20 MHz processor, floor model
6386SX WGS—16 MHz processor, small footprint desktop configuration
6386/25 WGS—25 MHz processor, desktop configuration
6386E/33 WGS—33 MHz processor, floor model
The AT&T WGS includes the system module (chassis) with keyboard,
a single 3 1/2-inch floppy disk drive or a single 5 1/4-inch floppy disk drive,
at least 1 MB of memory, and at least a 40 MB hard disk.
In order to function as an AUDIX Voice Power processor, a minimum of
4 MB of memory is required and at least a 68 MB hard disk is required.
Instructions for increasing system memory are included in this document.
If it is necessary to replace the hard disk, please see the service manual for
the appropriate WGS model.
Memory expansion kits to a minimum system total of 4 MB may be installed
on the motherboard or a special memory circuit board.
The following circuit boards may be installed in the system module:
one to three Integrated Voice Power (IVP4) 4-port circuit boards
Digital Communications Protocol (DCP) circuit board
(integrated AUDIX Voice Power with System 75 switch configuration
only)
Video Display Controller (VDC600) board (except on 6386SX WGS)
Cartridge Tape Controller (not compatible with DCP card)
