To activate the communications line on the server, do the following:
1. Use the Down button to select function 66.
2. Press the Enter button.
The system attempts to initialize the line. If it is successful, the Function/Data
window displays D1008066. If it could not initialize the line, it displays D1008065.
See Failure to display D1008065 and D1008066 automatically after calling the
function, if the expected reference code did not appear in a few minutes.
Network connection errors
These are solutions to problems that occur when a local console fails to connect to
a server over a network.
Try these possible solutions:
v Make sure the network is working.
v Verify that you provided the correct password that allows the server to access

Local or remote console status remains Connecting
These are solutions to problems that prevent the local console from connecting to
the server or the remote console from connecting to a local console due to
improper hardware or software configurations:
v Verify that the resources of the PC are free of address or interrupt request (IRQ)
v Verify that the iSeries server name and the local console name are correct.
