against this flap to open it and allows the detergent to flow out.
In some cases, the spring tension on the flap is too strong, and the drawer
ends up getting pushed forward a small bit, ¼ to ½ an inch, usually.
The fix for this is to reduce the spring tension. The preferred method is for the
technician to make this modification in the field. The detergent flap sits at the
back of the detergent drawer. After removing the drawer, remove the flap
assembly by gently spreading the two sets of plastic clips that attach it to the
support bar that spans the main wash drawer compartment (II).
Next, disassemble the flap assembly by gently pulling the flap away from its
base plate, making sure to note the location of the spring and the orientation
of the parts. You will end up with a total of three parts: the spring, the flap and
the base plate. The spring is what will be adjusted.
Using two pairs of pliers, force the two spring ends closer together to reduce
their relative angular position. Direct the force toward the spring coil, not the
ends. It is possible to bend the spring ends and this will not work.
The ends must remain straight.
Once the spring has been modified, re-assemble the flap to its base plate by
snapping the two pieces together with the spring loaded in between them.
Attach the flap assembly to the detergent drawer and the lighter spring
tension should now prevent the drawer from being pushed out.
The preferred method is for the technician to make this modification in the
field. In cases where this is not possible, the flaps in parts stock have already
been adjusted and can be used as they are - without any further modification.
In cases where the whole detergent drawer needs to be replaced, the flap
springs have been modified on these parts as well. Consult the ETD or parts
department for current part numbers. Any spare parts that have been
adjusted will have a blue dot on the label.

W 48XX Electronic Replacement
Currently, all of the SLC washers use the same power electronic. The W
4800 and W 4802 use the same fascia electronic (without display). The W
4840 and W 4842 also share the same fascia electronic (with display).
Since the W 48x2 washers are updated models, you will notice that there are
some subtle differences in program selection and fascia panel graphics.
Whenever the need arises to replace a power electronic, you must enter
service programming mode and be sure that the model programming
matches the actual model you are working on. This will ensure that the
machine operates as it should as described in the owners' manual.
Use your MDU or enter programming mode manually to accomplish this.
Here is an example from the programming mode table:
