Helm Master
Helm Master is an electronic boat control system that con-
trols the steering, shifting, and throttle operations. In addi-
tion, because you can use joystick mode to move the boat
laterally left or right or pivot it 360 degrees in place using a
single joystick lever, you can maneuver the boat easily when
docking or undocking or when traveling in narrow water-
ways or other tight spaces, such as in marinas. For more in-
formation about operating Helm Master, see the operation
manual that is included with Helm Master.

The Yamaha Security System is sold in conformity with
the relevant laws and regulations regarding radio wave
transmission. Therefore, if this product is used outside

The Yamaha Security System, which protects against theft,
consists of the receiver and remote control transmitters. The
Yamaha Security System is available from your Yamaha
dealer. For details, consult your Yamaha dealer.

The engine cannot be started if the security system is in the
lock mode. The engine can be started only in the unlock
mode. For more information, see the installation and owner's
manual included with the security system.
TIP:
The security system cannot be used with quad engine appli-

cations or Helm Master .

Digital Electronic Control box
The digital electronic control box actuates the shifter, the
throttle and remote electrical operations. Make sure that the
active indicator lights and that the digital electronic control
unit is correctly connected to the outboard motor.

Digital electronic control-active indicator
The digital electronic control-active indicator indicates that
the digital electronic control system is in the operating state.
 Lights: Operation of both shift and throttle possible.
 Blinks (when the gear shift is in neutral only): Shift not
operable. Only throttle operation available.
 Off: Shift and throttle not operable.
