d) Inserting the Driving Battery in the Vehicle

Attention!
The driving battery must not be connected to the speed controller yet. First switch on the transmitter, see
chapter 8. c).
Important!
This vehicle is only suitable for use with NiMH rechargeable batteries with 6 cells (rated voltage 7.2V).
When using a drive battery with more cells, there is a danger of fire from overheating of the speed control-
ler. Apart from this, the vehicle's drive will be overloaded and damaged by this (e.g. differential). Loss of
guarantee/warranty!
Pull off the safety clips on the retainer of the battery pack and then lift the retainer upwards from the vehicle.
Insert the driving battery into the chassis; the connection cable should point towards the rear axle to not hinder the
steering mechanics.
Reinsert the attachment strut in the right orientation and reattach it with the safety clips removed in the beginning.

e) Connecting the Driving Battery to the Speed Controller

Also check that the speed controller is switched off (switch position "OFF"
= off), for switch positions at the vehicle, see arrow in the figure to the
right).
If you didn't do so before, switch on the transmitter, see chapters 8. c).
To prevent a sudden starting of the wheels and therefore an uncontrolled starting of the model (e.g. if the
trimming for the drive is maladjusted or neutral position is not programmed correctly, see chapter 10),
place the model vehicle on a suitable surface (or starting box), so that the wheels can turn freely.
Never reach into the drive, and do not stop the wheels with your hand; danger of injury!
After switching off the speed controller as described above, connect the driving battery to the speed controller. Ensure
correct polarity (red cable = plus/+, black cable = minus/-).
