INTRODUCTION
,:'GENERAL
Congratulations! You now own the industry's first and only Universal Projector Controller/Switcher .
Although your system switcher has been factory preset with your requested projector brand software configu-
ration, it may easily be changed to make your system switcher compatible with any projector brand you
choose. In the past, system switching could only be accomplished using each individual projector
manufacturer's switcher/controller, but now Extron's system switcher gives you an option---universality .
This user's manual has been written with the basic user in mind.
It
will tell you everything you need to
know to connect your system switcher to any digitally controlled projector in the market today. If you have

EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
The Extron System 8 and System 10 switchers are digitally controlled eight or ten input switchers that are
ide~!Y suited for both rental and permanent installations. Any of its inputs can be either RGB with separate
;, . H;oiizontal/Vertical sync, Composite Sync, Sync on Green, Composite Video or S-Video. The switchers also
· have,uight and left audio follow video, with an attenuation level control, for any of the previously mentioned
input formats or on BNC connectors (composite video and S-Video only). The built-in microprocessor
provides for digital control of all major graphics projectors. The system switcher can also be remotely
controlled through its manual remote connection or its RS-232 connector. To address large installations
with more than 10 inputs, the switchers can be looped for up to a total of 154 inputs (17 switchers). Fea-
tures like Video Loop Back (VLB) make this switcher adaptable for even the most demanding environments .
CONFIGURATIONS
The System 8/10 Universal Projector Controller/Switchers are supplied in two ~onfigurations, both of
which can be factory preset to control any type or brand of graphics projector.

System IO .......... Ten Input Universal Projector Controller/Switcher .
