    The VLB mode is turned on and off by a toggle switch located between input connector sets 7 and 8 on the rear panel of the System 8/10, see diagram. With the switch in the NORM (up) position, the VLB mode is disabled.

    The output of the "Primary", in turn, is routed to the projector or display monitor. The maxi­mum number • of inputs available in the star configuration is 100 when using all System IO switchers (80 when using all System 8 switchers). The star connection scheme is somewhat more complicated to configure but provides maximum video bandwidth since the video signal is only routed through two switchers.

    System 8/10 User's Manual • Page 5-7 : The "star" connection method provides increased flexibility and higher video performance than the daisy­ chain connection method. The maximum number of inputs, however, is limited to just 100 inputs--- when all switchers are System 10 (1 primary unit plus 10 Peripheral units).

    . If you plan to use your System 8/10 as a stand alone switcher (i.e., not connected to a projector), it should be configured as an Arnpro. The Arnpro configuration provides the fastest switching speed for all of your stand alone applications.
