TWO SWITCHERS

'tOOPING INSTRUCTIONS
Two System 8 or System 10 switchers can be looped (connected) together for video switching systems that
r�quite more than 8 or 10 inputs. Any two switchers can be looped, but one of the switchers must be
configured as a "primary" unit and the other as a "peripheral" unit. The Primary Unit is the unit that provides
v1deo and control signals directly with the projector, with the control system or with both the projector and
the control system. The Peripheral Unit, on the other hand, only provides video signals to the Primary Unit,
which in turn routes the signals to the projector.
Turn off both switchers and decide which of the two will become the Primary Unit
Step I:

Step 2:
Disconnect all communications devices from the Primary Unit.

Primary Unit ... See figure on adjacent page. Locate the 5-section DIP switch labeled
ADDRESS at _the lower right hand side of the rear panel. Set switches as indicated in the
PRIMARY MODE table.
Peripheral Unit ... See figure on adjacent page. Locate the 5-section DIP switch labeled
St fP 4:
ADDRESS at the lower right hand side of the rear panel. Set switches as indicated in the
PERIPHERAL MODE table.
Step 5:
Connect the video output of the Peripheral Unit to the last input of the Primary Unit.
Step 6.
Connect an RJ-11 to RJ-11 cable between the SYSTEM INTERCOMM OUT connector of
the Primary Unit and the SYSTEM INTERCOMM IN connector of the Peripheral Unit.
Step 7:
Connect the video outputs from the Primary Unit to the video inputs of the projector.
(refer to Section 6, Projector Communications.)
Step 8:
Save Configuration ... first turn the Peripheral Unit ON, then turn the Primary Unit ON.
Wait 10 seconds for the Primary Unit to save the configuration to nonvolatile EEPROM
memory.
Step 9:
Primary Unit ... set ADDRESS switch No.4 to NORMAL (close).
Step 10:
Return both switchers to normal operation.

The Peripheral Unit should never have any communications devices connect ed, except a
contact closure remote cont rol (if required).
