Hardware Connections – Serial
If your computer has a serial port then follow the steps below for a direct serial connection, if you are using a USB to
serial adapter, go to the next page to learn how to setup the PIN pad & computer with the adapter.
3. Locate the included RJ 11 to serial cable. It
is labeled with part # CAB350078A. Identify
End 1 and End 2
4. On the bottom of the PIN pad dock, locate
the panel clips and pull back on both clips
at the same time to loosen the panel and
pull it off of the dock.
5. Connect End 1 in the RJ 11 port labeled
COM1.
6. Run the through the space by the dock
ports.
7. Place the cover back on the dock.
8. Connect End 2 of the cable to the serial
port on the computer that will be using the
pin pad. Record the COM port # if it is
labeled.
