DRIVING BELT
To Remove
Set engine i n the timing position with number one piston at T.D.C.

A l i g n the timing marks on the crar~kshaft
pointer (figure

Loosen the alternator fixing bolts and remove
crankshaft

Disconnect the battery.

Release the clips or screws securing the air trunkirig to the air box and

remove the air box outer cover to g ether with the air clearter element.
4.
Discortrtect the water hoses from the connections on the engine.
Disconnect the throttle arid choke cables from the engine.
5.
Remove the inlet manifold together with the carburetters (see INLET
MANIFOLD).
6.
Remove the sparking plug leads from the plugs and secure clear of the
working area.

and slacken the drive belt.
Fully remove the tensioner securing nut and washer, then pull
adjuster from out of the front cover. The adjuster i s a sliding
