6. Pictured here are examples of what's good (4) and what's
considered not good (5).
5.2.5 Clean Laser Window
1. Before every print job, clean the laser window from the
bottom with the Dust Off spray can. Keep the can in the
upward position and avoid spraying too hard. This will
remove most of the dust.
2. Take a white optical cleaning tissue. Roll it up into a small
ball (see image to the right) and spray it with some ethanol.
NOTE: Ethanol cleaning agent is to be provided
by the end user and must be according to the
following specs:
• Quality: absolute ethanol, denaturated with 4.8%
isopropanol
• Grade: Purum
• Assay: >99.8% (based on denaturant-free
substance)
The Sigma-Aldrich fluid (producer product number
02856) is recommended.
3. To clean the window, start in the middle and gently move
to the outside going in a circular motion (see image to the
right).
Caution: Make sure no sharp objects touch the
laser window.
4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 at least 2 times and repeat once without
spraying the cleaning tissue with fluid.
5. Use the green LED flashlight to check if the window is clean.
Hold the flashlight at various angles to make sure there are
no marks, stripes or dust on the laser window.
