6.2.2 Clean Laser Window
1. Before every print job, check the laser window to see if
cleaning is required. If so, clean the laser window from the
bottom with the Dust Off spray can. Keep the can in the
upward position and don't spray too hard. This way, most
of the dust is already removed.
2. Take a white optics cleaning cloth and form a small ball, as
shown in the image to the right.
3. Spray the cloth multiple times with ethanol.
NOTE: Ethanol cleaning agent is to be provided
by the end user and must be according to the
following specs:
• Quality: absolute ethanol, denaturated with 4.8%
isopropanol
• Grade: Purum
• Assay: >99.8% (based on denaturant-free
substance)
The Sigma-Aldrich fluid (producer product number
02856) is recommended.
4. Place the ball in the middle of the laser window and gently
move from the inside to the outside of the window.
Caution: Make sure no sharp edges get close to
the glass.
NOTE: Make sure you always turn the same
direction, so you don't get the dirt back to the
middle.
5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 a couple of times.
6. Check to see if the window is clean. To check if window
is clean take an LED flashlight and move the light into
different angles to see of there are any streaks and/or dust
left on the window
