For instance, an item might be on a multi buy, a meal deal and a bogof. In this case a group
number should be given in the sequence of priority that you want the promotion to be ex-
ecuted. If you want the meal deal to take priority, make that group 1 and so on. Remember
this is only important if you have a line on several promotions.
The Discount/Value entry is the value of the offer—so if it is a free item it is 100.00 (as in
100 free), if it is 3 for 1 it is 1 (1 is the offer), if it is buy one get one half price it is 50.00 (as
in 50 of the price). Type, shows whether it is a percent discount (like the 100.00 and 50.00
above) or total price like the 1 above. Sign shows whether it is a discount or in the unlikely
event of an addition.
The last element is to identify the PLUs the promotion applies to. Touch the QT/OT button.
This brings up a table with 2 sides—the left will
show the products the customer needs to pur-
chase and the right what they will get in return.
Touch Add PLU and the PLU list will appear—
either scroll down to the product or scan the item
and touch the tick box. The product will appear
in the left hand table. Enter other products that
are part of the same promotion in the same way.
These are the qualifying products. Now do the
same in the right hand side for the offer product. If the same product(s) are involved just re-enter
them. In the case of a buy three for a 1 example, put the same products on both sides. On the
other hand, if you had buy a product and get a different item half price there would be different
products in each table.
Each promotion entered is given a unique sequential id number. You can print off all the
details of promotions by touching the button at the top of the Promotion screen. Please note
however, that if you have a large quantity of promotions this could use a large amount of till
roll.
