Connecting the external devices to POS-3000

Warning: Ask your ECR dealer for detailed instruction on connecting external devices.

POS-3000 keyboard

Any PS or POS keyboard can be connected to the POS-3000 cash register. The Elcom com-
pany recommends the EK-3000 keyboards that were specifically designed for this cash register.
The EK-3000 keyboard is programmable, so it is possible to change the position of individual
keys.
The keys are marked by large and simple icons for convenient and quick orientation. The
function name is written under the icon in small letters. The POS-3000 keyboard is very
convenient and ready for work, even whole day long. Function keys and department keys are
equipped by transparent removable covers that allow exchanging the key stickers. You can
greatly facilitate your work by marking the department keys to your own (e. g. dairy products,
alcohol, groceries...).

Keyboard programming

The keyboard supplied along with the ECR
is programmable using the software sup-
plied on a diskette. The supplied software
contains several help files that allow easy
keyboard programming. Connect the key-
board according to the supplied picture and
proceed as the help files instruct.
Names and functions of the
keys
Text in capitals is the name of the key. This
name will furthermore be used when refer-
encing a key. Unprogrammable keys are usable in all ECR modes; the rest is usable only in the
registration mode.
