Gearbox 0AF - Edition 09.2013
– Check whether the intermediate plate is suspended from the
sealing flange -arrow top- and slid onto the dowel sleeves
-arrows below-.
– Clean splines of drive shaft and apply a thin film of grease -
G 000 100- .
The clutch plate must slide freely up and down the drive shaft.
The gearbox mount - 3282- must be adjusted before installing the
gearbox "0AF" with the aid of the adjusting plate - 3282/31- .
– Position gearbox mount - 3282- onto the engine/gearbox jack
- V.A.G 1383 A- .
– Position adjusting plate - 3282/31- onto the gearbox mount -
3282- (adjusting plate fits in only one position).
– Align arms of the gearbox mount to match the holes in the
adjusting plate .
– Screw in mounting elements -A-, as shown on the adjusting
plate .
– Align the adjusting plate parallel to the gearbox.
– Afterwards carefully raise the gearbox and pass it by the as‐
sembly carrier.
Note
Be careful of all lines when installing gearbox.
– Carefully push the engine forwards (2nd mechanic).
– To do so, carefully pass the gearbox, as shown, past the fly‐
wheel -arrow 2- and past the assembly carrier -arrow 1-.
– Place the gearbox on the engine, while do so screw in the
connecting screws for engine/gearbox in the area of the en‐
gine oil trough ⇒ page 126
– Insert screw -A- above and below the right flange shaft and
tighten ⇒ page 126 .
– After connecting the engine/gearbox, remove the engine/gear‐
box jack from the gearbox.
– Install the gearbox console:
