Blinking Red LED

Problem

The Ethernet MAC address on the unit has been erased.

Symptom

After powering up the MegaRAC K1, the MegaRAC K1 has a blinking red LED .

Solution

Connect a null modem serial cable between the MegaRAC K1 and the host system.
Connect to the MegaRAC K1 through HyperTerminal. Press any key to bring up a
prompt. See Setting up Hyper Terminal in Appendix D, Appendix D SConsole Utility.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
Look up the MAC address for your MegaRAC K1. It is normally located on a label on
the bottom of the MegaRAC K1.
For example: 00:40:D9:02:4A:01
Type it in carefully.
Note:
Duplicate MAC addresses on the same network can cause disruption in the operation of
other unit(s) sharing the MAC address.
Press the Enter key.
Your MegaRAC K1 should now continue to boot properly.
