Logical Disk Properties

Field
Description
Logical Device Name
This field displays the name of the Logical Device name.
RAID. Level
This field displays the type of RAID. array of the Logical Disk.
Logical Device Status
This field displays the status of the physical disk. The physical disk status can be in any of
the following states:
Initializing
Online
Degraded
Failed
Restoring
Expanding
Transforming
Capacity.
This field displays the capacity of the Logical Disk.
Spare disks
This field displays spare disks for this LD if any have been configured.
Spare type
This field displays the type of spare selected for this array, if any.
Physical Disks
This field displays all the physical disks involved in this Logical Disk. The physical Port
Involved
location of the physical disk on the Controller and on which Controller it is attached to is
displayed.
Blink Disk button
Clicking on this button will cause the physical disks involved in this LD to blink.
Add spare
Click on this button to add a dedicated spare to this array from the pool of available
physical disks that displays.
Cache Settings
This field allows you to view/modify the cache settings.

Deleting a Logical Disk

Simply select a Logical Disk and click on the Delete button to delete it.

Expanding and Transforming Logical Disks

Description
Expand
Select this option to expand the size of your Logical Disk.
Transform
Select this option to transform the Logical Disk from one raid level to another.
Name
This field displays the name of the Logical Device name.
RAID. Level
This field displays the type of RAID. array of the Logical Disk. If you are transforming
the Logical Disk, you can modify the RAID Level.
Organized as
This field displays how the Logical Disk is organized.
Capacity.
This field shows the current size of the array, and allows you to specify the expanded
capacity of the Logical Disk.
Status
This field displays the status of the logical disk. The disk can be in any of the following
states:
Initializing
Online
Degraded
Failed
Restoring
Expanding
Transforming
Spare type
This field displays the spare configuration for this LD.
Select Disks
This field allows you to select the physical disks that you want to use to expand or
transform your Logical Disk with.
Note:
All features described here may or may not be available for all controllers supported.
Based on the supported features of the supported controller, options will automatically be
disabled or enabled.

with. There will be performance degradation.
The Logical Disk has been rendered useless.

The Logical Disk is being initialized.
