Inspection of Wheel Assembly.
a.
Visually chcck all parts for cracks, distortion, defects and excess wear.
b. Check tie bolts for looseness or failure.
c. Check internal diameter of felt grcase seals. Replace the felt grease seals if surface is hard or gritty.
d. Check tire for cuts, internal bruises and deterioration.
e. Check bearing cones and cups for wear and pitting and relubricate.
f.
Replace any wheel casting having visible cracks.

Assembly and Installation of Main Wheel. (Cleveland)
a. Ascertain that the bearing cup (3) in each wheel half is properly installed.
b. Install tire and join the two wheel halves.
c. Insert
thru
bolts (12) with bolt heads on the brake disc side and torque to specifications given on the
wheel and inflate tire.
d. Lubricate the bearing cones (4) and install bearings, grease seals (6) and retainers (5). Secure
retainers with screws or snap rings.
