DURING USE __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
You are now ready to enter the environment for which the power assisted filtering RPD is intended.
Immediately leave the work area and/or replace the RPD if;
1. breathing becomes difficult;
2. dizziness or other distress occurs;
3. the RPD is damaged;
4. the hood fogs;
5. the air flow into the respiratory interface decreases significantly or stops; or
6. the warning is activated, if present (refer to blower unit's manual).
Should any of these occur, and you remain in the contaminated work area, you risk exposure to hazardous quantities of the air contaminant which can result in serious injury, illness or death.
AFTER USE ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Doffing of your RPD
To turn off the RP, press and hold the round power button for 3 seconds until the unit emits an audible beep and powers down. To take off the helmet, loosen the ratchet on the headgear, pull the neck seal off your chin and carefully
remove the helmet off your head.
Before removing your respiratory interface, you must leave the contaminated area. Failure to follow this instruction may result in bodily injury, illness or death.
Cleaning
The ADF and the front cover lens must be cleaned with a soft cloth at regular intervals. No strong cleaning agents, solvents, alcohol or cleansers containing scouring agent must be used. Scratched or damaged lenses must be replaced.
Clean helmet using a mild cleaning solution [e.g. dish washing liquid soap or the EPI-US product (P/N 1779065)] and a lint-free cloth or sponge agent. Rinse the surfaces thoroughly with clean water (do not use any solvents). The face
seal or outer shroud can be clean or washed if possible, or replaced if damaged and soiled. Clean the inner surfaces of the helmet with a disinfectant.
Dry all components and the exterior of the breathing hose with a clean, lint-free cloth and/or leave to air dry in a clean environment free of dust and particulates. Make sure all components are completely dry before putting the breathing
device back into service.
STORAGE______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Maximum storage time is 3 years if properly maintained and kept in its original, dry and undamaged packaging in storing temperatures -20 – +80°C up to 90% RH. Store the helmet away from direct sunlight and dust in the original
packaging or in a sealed pack.
MAINTENANCE _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Maintenance, cleaning and replacement or repairs shall be done only by personnel familiar with these user instructions and powered filtering RPDs, using parts supplied by the original equipment manufacturer.
Prior to use:
Check the functioning of the system.
After use:
Clean and disinfect the system. Check the functioning of the system.
FRONT LENS COVER REPLACEMENT (Fig.2)
1) First, push in one side clip to release the lens cover and then remove it.
2) Attach the new front lens cover to one side clip.
3) Pull the cover over to the second side clip and lock it in place. Attaching the front lens cover will take some pressure to compress the gasket.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT (Fig.3)
The ADF has replaceable Lithium button cell batteries, type CR2032. The batteries must be replaced when the LED on the ADF flashes green. To replace the batteries:
1) Carefully remove the battery cover.
2) Remove the batteries and dispose of them in accordance with the local regulations for special waste.
3) Insert CR2032 type batteries, taking care to orient the polarity correctly.
4) Carefully replace the battery cover. If the shade ADF does not darken when the welding arc is ignited, please check battery polarity.
5) To check whether the batteries still have sufficient power, hold the ADF against a bright lamp. If the green LED flashes, the batteries should be replaced immediately.
6) If the ADF does not operate correctly even after confirming the battery polarity, the ADF should be removed from service.
