2. Raise the hood.
3. Disconnect the hydraulic line
remove the hydraulic filter
the hydraulic fluid flow into a drain pan.

4. Install the hydraulic line when hydraulic fluid
stops draining.
5. Fill the reservoir (Figure
refer to Checking the Level of the Hydraulic
Fluid (page 49).
Important:
Use only the hydraulic fluids
specified. Other fluids could damage the
hydraulic system.

6. Install the reservoir cap, start the engine, and
use all of the hydraulic controls to distribute the
hydraulic fluid throughout the system.
7. Check for leaks; then shut off the engine.
8. Check the fluid level and add enough to raise
the level to Full mark on the dipstick. Do not
overfill.
Replacing the Hydraulic
Filter
Service Interval: Every 1,000 hours—If you
are using the recommended
hydraulic fluid, replace the
hydraulic filter.
Every 800 hours—If you are not using the
recommended hydraulic fluid or have ever
filled the reservoir with an alternative fluid,
replace the hydraulic filter.
Use a genuine Toro replacement filter (Part No.
54-0110).
Important:
Using any other filter may void the
warranty on some components.
1. Park the machine on a level surface, lower the
cutting units, engage the parking brake, shut off
the engine, and remove the key.
2. Pinch off the hose to the filter mounting plate.
3. Clean around the filter mounting area.
4. Place a drain pan under the filter
and remove the filter.
5. Lubricate the new filter gasket and fill the filter
with hydraulic fluid.
6. Ensure that the filter mounting area is clean,
screw the filter on until the gasket contacts the
mounting plate, and then tighten the filter 1/2
turn.
