If the spectrophotometer does not operate normally, the following causes are
suspected:
• Erroneous operation
• Deterioration of consumable part or parts
• Instrument trouble
Possible causes and corrective actions against troubles are given below in the
troubleshooting chart. In the event that the trouble cannot be corrected after
following the actions given in the troubleshooting chart, contact your local JASCO
distributor and provide the model name and serial number of your instrument
together with a complete description of the problem.
When checking the instrument, observe the following warnings and cautions.
WARNINGS:
(1) Do not directly look at the light (ultraviolet light) emitted from the
Deuterium lamp as this may injure your eye. Wear glasses
(ordinary glasses or sunglasses) during adjustment.
(2) The lamp is very hot when lit. When the lamp is lit do not touch
with bare hands. Before replacing the lamp, wait for at least 15
minutes after turning off the lamp until the lamp cools down.
(3) Before checking the electrical system, be sure to turn off the
power switch.
CAUTIONS:
(1) Before plugging in the AC power cable, ensure that the power
switch is in the Off position.
(2) Never touch the mirror or other optical elements with bare hands.
