7.6 Removing and installing moulded head‐
liner (Estate)
7.6.1 Removing
Note
If the moulded headliner in a vehicle with "make-up mirror" has
been replaced, cut out 2 corresponding apertures in the new part.
The location of the apertures must be the same as on the used
part. To cut out the apertures, use a carpet knife. To prevent
damage on fabric surface of moulded headliner, cut, starting from
fabric surface, in direction of subframe material. The edges of
each aperture must be provided with a reinforcement plate.
Vehicles with sliding/tilting sunroof:
– Open sunroof.
– Switch off ignition.
– Remove front and rear interior and reading lights ⇒ Electrical
system; Rep. gr. 96 ; Lights and switches in roof headliner
– Remove spectacles holder together with console in moulded
headliner ⇒ page 35
– Remove upper A-pillar trims
– Remove sun visors:
♦ Single ⇒ page 37
♦ Double ⇒ page 39
– Remove roof grab handles
– Remove B-pillar upper trims
– Remove C-pillar trims (Estate)
– Remove roof end strip trim (Estate)
Vehicles with rear side airbag:
– Disconnect vehicle battery ⇒ Electrical system; Rep. gr. 27 ;
Disconnecting and reconnecting battery .
All vehicles:
– Remove lock carrier cover (Estate)
– Fold left bench seat and backrest forwards.
– Remove side padding:
♦ With rear side airbags
♦ with no rear side airbags
– Remove side trim panel in luggage compartment (Estate):

– Remove D-pillar trims
Vehicles with interior mirror and rain sensor:
– Remove side cover caps from interior mirror
