– Separate connector -1- from brake light switch - F- .
– Remove bolt -2- from brake master cylinder.
– Pull brake light switch - F- -3- from brake master cylinder at
top and remove from clip at bottom.
Installing
– Install in reverse order.
Specified torque:
Torx bolt to brake master cylinder

Removing
Vehicles with diesel engine
Caution
The bracket for engine cover panel on the cylinder head cover
can break if not removed correctly. Always remove engine
cover panel according to following instructions.
– Pull engine cover panel upwards out of retainers at points in‐
dicated by -arrows- in sequence as shown
– Grasp under engine cover panel as far as possible.
– Remove heat shield -1- from diesel particulate filter by un‐
screwing nuts -arrows-.
– Remove upper timing belt guard by detaching clips -arrows-.
