Attach two closure brackets to the upper step guard post using 5/16"-18 x 2-1/4" hex bolts,

5/16"-18 locknuts, and 5/16" flat washers (FIG. 3.3).
3.7. Install a 1-1/2" square tube plug in the top of the 1-1/2" square closure post. Use a rubber
mallet or similar tool to fully seat as needed (FIG. 3.4).
3.8. Tighten all fasteners securely.
