Dual Time Base Function
The dual time base function is similar
to window extension but there is a
fundamental difference In the window
extension mode you can magnify
the waveform times whereas in
the dual time base mode you can
magnify details of the waveform being
observed by thousands of times
In effect the main time base storage depth is increased by thousands of times.
Note: The Math function is disabled in the dual time base mode.

Setting up the Trigger system
Triggering decides when the oscilloscope collects data and displays waveforms.
Once the trigger is correctly set up, it can convert unstable display into significant
waveforms.
When beginning to collect data the oscilloscope first collects sufficient data to draw
a waveform on the left of the triggering point.
While waiting for the triggering condition to occur it will continuously collect data.
When sufficient data to draw a waveform on the right side of the triggering point.
The trigger control zone on the operation panel comprises a trigger LEVEL
adjustment control, and a trigger MENU button.
Menu button enables the trigger set up modes.
Trigger level sets the trigger point's vertical position on the trigger edge.
Trigger modes: Edge, Pulse, Video and Alternate.
Pulse width trigger is when the pulse width of the trigger signal reaches a preset
condition, trigger occurs.
Video Trigger carries out field or line trigger to standard video signals.
Slope trigger condition is the signal rising or falling rate.
When selecting edge trigger, you are triggering at the rising and falling edges of the
input signal.
Setup

Switching between main time base and dual time base
Dual
CH1, CH2
Switch to the waveform displayed on a different channel.
CH3, CH4
Only one channel can be displayed in the dual time base mode
When M1 is the main time base, use the horizontal POSITION
and SEC/DIV controls to adjust into main time base parameters
M1, M2
When M2 is the main time base, use the horizontal POSITION
and SEC/DIV to adjust into main time base parameters
Coarse
Set delayed time base M2 to move horizontally in escalating scale
