During ground operations the aircraft' s position is displayed in reference to taxiways,
runways, and airport features. In the example shown, the aircraft is on runway 19R approaching
a designated Airport Hot Spot boundary at KSFO airport.

Removing SafeTaxi
From the 'Map' Page, open the menu and select Map Options > Aviation Options
> SafeTaxi. A subdued indication on the SafeTaxi Button indicates the feature is
disabled. A green indication signifies the feature is enabled.
Or:
1) From the 'HSI Map' Page or the 'Map' Page, open the menu and select HSI Map
Options/Map Options > Map Options > Map Detail.
2) Select the lowest level of map detail.

7.3 RADAR ALTIMETER (OPTIONAL)

OVERVIEW

The optional Radar Altimeter (Rad Alt) display on the MFI displays the height above terrain
in real-time, directly below the aircraft. The Rad Alt is not forward looking and the AGL
reading is not a good indication of future AGL altitudes. The MFI uses Garmin or compatible
hardware to measure height AGL by timing how long it takes a radio beam to reflect off the
ground and return to the aircraft. Thus, when airborne, the radar altitude reading is constantly
changing as terrain changes.
