If the aircraft is flown by hand (e.g., using external Control Wheel Steering), the amber
Aircraft Symbol changes to indicate aircraft attitude while the magenta Command Bars do not
change (indicating no change to Flight Director cueing).

ENGAGING THE AUTOPILOT

When the Autopilot is engaged (via an external controller), the Autopilot is activated on the
MFI and is indicated by the magenta Command Bars and the amber Aircraft Symbol moving
together in unison. Engagement is also observed by indications on your external Flight
Director or external controller.

DISENGAGING THE AUTOPILOT

Manual Disengagement
The Autopilot is manually disengaged from the external Flight Director / AFCS Controller by
using the A/P DISC Switch. When disengaged, the Command Bars are removed.
