Conditions for Use

— The oxygen content of the ambient air may not fall below the following limit values:
17 Vol.-% in Europe exception of the Netherlands, Belgium, UK
19 Vol.-% in the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, UK.
19.5 Vol.-% in the USA.
— Unventilated areas, such as mine shafts and sewers, etc. must not be entered with power-assisted
filtering systems.
— The type and concentration of the contaminants must be known.
— When verifying the operating conditions, check whether protective clothing and protective
headgear may be necessary.
— Do not use in potentially explosive atmospheres!
— Temperatures below 50
— Strictly follow the Instructions for Use of the Dräger respiratory filter.
— Observe local regulations, e.g. EN 529 "Respiratory protective devices – Recommendations for
selection, use, care and maintenance – Guidance document", EN 14387:2004 and EN 143:2000/
A1:2006 within the European Union as well as corresponding national rules, e.g. BGR 190 "Rules
for the use of respirators" from the German Federation of Institutions for Statutory Accident
Insurance and Prevention for Germany.
— The user of a filter apparatus must be instructed in its use. The filter apparatus must be suitable and
be tested for respiratory-protection fitness in accordance with BGI 504-26.
Non-compliance with these instructions and the regulations on use, as well as non-use of the power-
assisted filtering system in contaminated areas may impair the user's health and may even cause
permanent damage.
The degree of protection depends on the selected combination (Table 1):
