11.3. Checking safety mechanisms

Checking the door opening safety device
CAUTION!
THIS SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL ONLY.
CHECK THE DOOR SAFETY DEVICE DAILY.
TAKE GREAT CARE WHEN CHECKING THE DOOR LOCK.
IF THERE IS A FAULT IN THE DOOR LOCK, KEEP HANDS WELL AWAY FROM THE DRYER LOADING
ORIFICE.
Checking procedure:
Use DEMO mode to perform this check (see Options in Section 7.1.2).
With the machine power supply on, open the door of the dryer. The display reports that the door is open and
no program can be started.
Close the door.
Select and run a drying program containing heating.
When the display shows that the heating system is on, open the door of the dryer.
The open door image appears on the display.
The heating system must be disconnected. The fan continues to run for a few seconds.
Close the door. The display shows a message allowing the program to be resumed or cancelled.
Cancel the program and open the door.
DANGER!
IF A FUNCTION IS DETECTED THAT IS DIFFERENT FROM THAT DESCRIBED IN THIS SECTION,
DISCONNECT ALL THE MACHINE'S SUPPLY LINES AND CONTACT THE AUTHORISED TECHNICAL
SERVICE.
NEVER USE THE MACHINE WITH A FAULTY DOOR SAFETY DEVICE.
Checking the laundry's General Emergency Stop
CAUTION!
THIS SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL ONLY.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT, IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAFETY REQUIREMENTS FOR
INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY STANDARD (UNE-EN ISO 10472-1,5-2) AND OTHER SAFETY REQUIREMENTS,
THE LAUNDRY OWNER/MANAGER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR INSTALLING AN EMERGENCY STOP DEVICE
THAT AFFECTS ALL THE MACHINES IN THE LAUNDRY.
Check the Emergency Stop on a WEEKLY basis, and ensure that:
 activating the Emergency Stop disconnects ALL the machines in the laundry.
 unlocking the Emergency Stop does not connect the machines.
 the Emergency Stop's START command restores the electricity supply.
DANGER!
IF ANY OPERATING BEHAVIOUR OTHER THAN THAT DESCRIBED IN THIS SECTION IS DETECTED,
DISCONNECT THE POWER SUPPLY FOR THE PREMISES AND URGENTLY CONTACT A REGISTERED
ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION CONTRACTOR.
