Switch Point Setting - GEM 4221 Installation, Operating And Maintenance Instructions

In order to achieve correct function, switch S3 may only be set at 1 (up)
during "quick programming on site".
Manual programming mode (S1=1):
1. Connect supply voltage 24 V DC (plug 1, pin 1), GND (plug 1, pin 3).
2. Set switch S1 to the position "manual programming mode".
3. Apply 24 V DC to the programming input (plug 1, pin 4).
4. Activate the valve (plug 1, pin 2 24 V DC).
5. When the valve has reached its end position, close the valve (plug 1, pin 2 0 V).
6. When the valve has reached its end position, set programming input (plug 1, pin 4) to 0 V.
7. The end positions are set.
Automatic programming mode (S1=0):
1. Connect supply voltage (plug 1, pin 1), GND (plug 1, pin 3).
2. Set switch S1 to the "automatic programming" position (factory setting).
3. Short signal (24 V DC) to programming input
(5-pin version: plug 1, pin 4 / 8-pin version: plug 1, pin 5).
4. If the valve is automatically opened and closed, the end positions are correctly set.
Quick programming on site (S3=1):
1. Connect supply voltage 24 V DC (plug 1, pin 1), GND (plug 1, pin 3).
2. Set switch S3 to the position "quick programming on site".
3. If the valve is automatically opened and closed, the end positions are correctly set.
4. Set switch S3 back to position "0".

Switch point setting

The combi switchbox provides the possibility of proportionally setting the switch points for
the OPEN and CLOSED feedback to the programmed stroke.
Example: Switch point OPEN 25%, switch point CLOSED 12%

These tolerances enable compensation of operational changes e.g. temperature changes to
ensure reliable end position feedback.
