Using the Control Panel

The Quantum processor is a host device with Microsoft Windows XP embedded. The
Quantum Control Panel is a Windows-based program that is resident on the Quantum
internal disk or flash drive and enables you to perform various setup tasks, such as setting
the processor IP address or updating its firmware.

Starting the Control Panel

To access the Quantum Control Panel:

Ensure that the Quantum is powered down.
Connect a PS/2 or USB keyboard and mouse to the USB or mini-DIN connectors on
the Quantum rear panel (see
on page 46).
Connect a monitor to the 15-pin VGA connector on the rear panel Media I and II card
(Quantum Elite 615) or Keyboard and Mouse card (Quantum Elite 408 and Quantum
Connect).
Power on the processor. The Quantum introductory screen appears on the monitor.
This screen displays the name and a photograph of a Quantum processor.
On the Quantum keyboard, hold down the <Ctrl> key while pressing <F2>. The
Control Panel main window opens.

Click one of the buttons at the bottom of the screen to proceed to the desired task

To close the Control Panel window, click Close in the upper-right corner.
