APPENDIX A RUNNING COMMAND PROMPT AS AN
ADMINISTRATOR
The following procedure shows how to run Command Prompt as an administrator.
● In the case of Windows® 7 and Windows Server® 2008 R2
1. Log on to the computer using an administrator account.
2. Click Start.
3. Click All Programs.
4. Click Accessories.
5. Right-click Command Prompt and click Run as administrator.
(If the administrator account you used for log on is a built-in administrator account, simply
click Command Prompt.)
If you see the User Account Control window, click Yes.
● In the case of Windows Server® 2012 R2
1. Sign in to the computer using an administrator account.
2. Right-click Start. Then a menu appears. On the menu, click Command Prompt (Admin).
(If the administrator account you used for sign-in is a built-in administrator account, simply
click Command Prompt.)
If you see the User Account Control window, click Yes.
