1.1 Intended purpose
The bacteria filter serves to filter respiratory air on therapy devices for
sleep-related respiratory disorders and ventilatory insufficiency to
prevent devices becoming contaminated. The maximum duration of
use for the particle filter is 24 h.
1.2 Description of function
The bacteria filter is located between the device and the tube system.
This includes a particle filter which filters the patient's respiratory air.
The filtering action of the particle filter is achieved by means of
electrostatic charging.

For your own safety, the safety of your patients, and to comply with
the requirements of EU Directive 93/42/EEC, please observe the
following points:
• Please read these instructions for use carefully. They are a
constituent part of the device and must be available at all times.
• Use the bacteria filter only for the intended purpose described (see
"1.1 Intended purpose" on page 20).
• For each new patient, a new particle filter should always be used
and the housing disinfected/sterilized both inside and out. Please
