2. Safety instructions

2.1 Safety information

Read these instructions for use carefully. They form part of the OXYWAY Click distributor
and must be available at all times. Use the distributor exclusively for the intended purpose
described (see "1.1 Intended use" on Page 6).
For your own safety and the safety of your patients and in accordance with the require-
ments of Directive 93/42 EEC, please note the following.
Use of the OXYWAY Click distributor
Caution!
• Use the OXYWAY Click distributor only if you are medically trained and
have received instruction in the ventilation technique. Severe physical
damage can result from incorrect use.
• Before working with the OXYWAY Click distributor, you must have
understood how to use it.
• Do not throw the OXYWAY Click distributor.
• Do not place the OXYWAY Click distributor in liquids (water or similar).
• Always keep the distributor clean, as well as free from oil and grease.
• Please observe Section "4. Hygiene treatment" on Page 11 to prevent
infection or bacterial contamination.
Oxygen
Warning!
Spontaneous explosive reactions can occur if highly-compressed oxygen comes into
contact with flammable substances (grease, oil, alcohol etc.).
• Always keep the devices and all screwed connections free of oil and
grease.
• Prevent liquid penetrating.
• Always wash your hands before starting to work on the oxygen supply.
• Smoking and naked flames are strictly prohibited in the vicinity of any
fittings transporting oxygen.
