3.7 Splitting device

The Japa 485 firewood processor is equipped with a hydraulic splitting device, which is operated by the
manual lever. The splitting device does not function if the splitting area guard is open. The height of the
splitting knife can be adjusted hydraulically.
IF THE LOG TWISTS AFTER SAWING, DO NOT ACTIVATE SPLITTING. INSTEAD, OPEN THE
GUARD AND REALIGN THE LOG WITH THE PUSHER!
DAMAGE TO THE SPLITTING KNIFE CAUSED BY CARELESS SPLITTING IS NOT COVERED
BY THE GUARANTEE!

Hydraulic splitting knife adjustment.
Move the lever up (knife rises) or down (knife
lowers).
Once the sawing is complete, the wood moves to
the bottom of the splitting groove, after which the
splitting can be activated by pushing the splitting
activation lever to position 1.
If a piece of log falls into an upright position, align it
with the pusher, close the splitting mesh and
activate the splitting by pushing the splitting
activation lever to position 1.
