• Device failure possible.
Read the technical data before connecting a medical product. The use of
incompatible devices can lead to the failure of these devices.
• Inadequate supply of oxygen possible.
Ensure that the multistep adjuster "engages" properly in the desired set-
ting on OXYWAY Fast pressure reducers. If the flow adjuster is between
two adjacent settings, no oxygen will flow out. This can lead to a risk to
the patient.
• Inadequate supply of oxygen possible.
Keep the flow in OXYWAY Fine pressure reducers under regular obser-
vation and adjust it again if necessary. If the device is used for a pro-
longed period without interruption, the set flow rate will gradually fall as
cylinder pressure drops. This can lead to a risk to the patient.
• Uncontrolled oxygen output possible!
The pressure outlets of the pressure reducers have no nonreturn valve to
seal the pressure outlet automatically when the connector is removed.
When changing devices, therefore, shut off the oxygen cylinder and vent
the system (see "4.3 After operation" on page 17) before removing con-
nected devices or tubes.
Oxygen
Warning!
Highly compressed oxygen in conjunction with combustible substances (grease, oil,
alcohol etc.) may give rise to spontaneous explosive reactions:
• Keep the units and all screwed unions absolutely free from oil and
grease.
• You must never on any account place the pressure reducer in a disinfec-
tant solution or any other cleaning solution. Liquid must never be al-
lowed to enter the pressure reducer because of the resulting explosion
risk. A clean cloth, moistened if necessary with clean warm water, is
enough for cleaning.
• Be sure to wash your hands before working on the oxygen supply.
Warning!
• If oxygen is being supplied to the respiratory flow, smoking and naked
flames are forbidden. Risk of fire. The oxygen can accumulate in cloth-
ing, bed linen or hair. It can only be removed by thorough ventilation.
• When assembling the unit and when changing cylinders, tighten all
screwed unions on the oxygen cylinder and the pressure reducer by hand
