VLNC40/VLNC42 standalone test
This procedure will verify that the 20 10/100-Mbs ports are working on the VLIU
panel when the Alcatel-Lucent 1850 TSS-5 shelf is equipped with a VLNC40 or
VLNC42 circuit pack.This test case will use a PC set up temporarily with a specific
static IP address to verify each 100-Mb port can ping the Alcatel-Lucent 1850 TSS-5
shelf's switch IP address. This switch IP address will be removed upon completion of
these tests.
Note:
VLNC40 circuit pack as described in the "Install NE Software on a new Alcatel-
Lucent 1850 TSS-5 network Element" chapter of the Alcatel-Lucent 1850 Transport
Service Switch (TSS-5) Software Release Description.
