Need help?
Do you have a question about the RPP50 and is the answer not in the manual?
Questions and answers
I bought the RPP50 to discharge sewage for a basement toilet that is in a platform container. I need the pump to start when the sewage level reaches 3 to 4 inches. I plugged the pump in and lowered the float to the floor. I lifted the float up to my desired level and the pump started. But when I lowered the float to the floor the pump wouldn't shut off, How can I make this work for my purposes.
The Wayne RPP50 pump uses a tethered float switch, which means you can adjust the starting and stopping levels by changing the tether length. To set the pump to start at 3 to 4 inches of sewage level and shut off when the float lowers:
1. Adjust the Float Switch Tether Length – Shorten the tether to reduce the float's range of motion. A shorter tether will make the pump start and stop at lower levels.
2. Secure the Float Properly – Attach the float securely to the discharge pipe or another stable point to prevent it from drifting.
3. Test the Operation – Fill the pit with water to check if the pump activates at the desired level and shuts off correctly.
4. Ensure Free Movement – Make sure the float moves freely without obstruction to avoid malfunction.
If the float switch does not allow such a low activation level, you may need to use an external float switch with a narrower activation range.
