and near to a hot water draw-off point, and secure the appliance
to the floor.

Handling

SB 302 S and SB 402 S
!
To prevent damage and soiling, we recommend
removing the cylinder casing for transportation to the
installation location.
8.3
Installation
8.3.1 Fitting the cylinder casing and, if necessary, the DHW
circulation line
You can fit a DHW circulation line to the DHW circulation
»
connection; this may, however, also be used for fitting a
thermometer (see chapter "Specification / Dimensions").
SB 302 S and SB 402 S
Fit the cylinder casing before making the water
connection and, if necessary, the DHW circulation line
or the flanged immersion heater.
The plinth trim should be fitted after the tightness check.
If you install a DHW circulation line on the DHW circulation
»
connection, cut an opening in the cylinder casing for the DHW
circulation line near the connection (indentation in the foam).
Remove the thermal insulation near the connection.
»
Route the DHW circulation line through the opening in the
»
cylinder casing and fit the DHW circulation line.
Insulate the connection for the DHW circulation line.
»
Insert the 1/2" adaptor supplied with 1/2" flat gasket and
»
an extension.
Cover the hole in the cylinder casing with the adhesive rose
»
supplied.
SB AC
Fit the thermal insulation after connecting the water
(see chapter "Fitting the thermal insulation"), but

8.3.2 Fitting special accessories
SB AC: The polystyrene cap in the lower flange
aperture is also designed to position the thermal
insulation correctly above the flange apertures. If
you fit the special accessories into the lower flange
aperture, then push the polystyrene cap into the upper
flange aperture.
Install the special accessories in accordance with the operating
»
and installation instructions supplied.
Close the flange apertures with an indirect coil, flanged
»
immersion heater, dummy flange or threaded immersion heater.
Maintain the DC separation towards the cylinder.
8.3.3 Fitting the water connection and the safety assembly
Risk of damage
!
Carry out all water connection and installation work
in accordance with regulations.
Flush the pipe thoroughly.
»
Install a type-tested safety assembly. Bear in mind that,
»
depending on the static pressure, you might also need a
pressure reducing valve (see chapter "Special accessories /
Safety assembly and pressure reducing valve").
Connect the DHW outlet line and the cold water inlet line.
»
SB 302 S and SB 402 S
1
1 Cold water connection
2 Cold water supply pipe
Connect the cold water supply directly to the cylinder or with the
»
connecting pipe routed between the cylinder feet.
During fitting, counterhold the fitting with an open-ended
»
spanner (size 36).
Check the rigidity of the connecting pipe and secure it further
»
if required.
All appliance models
Size the drain so that water can drain off unimpeded when the
»
safety valve is fully opened. The blow-off aperture of the safety
valve must remain open towards the atmosphere.
Fit the blow-off line of the safety assembly with a constant slope.
»
Observe the information in the installation instructions of the
»
safety assembly.
