The additional loadable encryption modules for the 8895SF/CPU are as follows:
• p80ce7000.des 3DES
• p80ce7000.aes AES DES
You can install a 8895SF/CPU module in both slots 5 and 6 of the 8006, 8010, or 8010co
chassis to enable redundant operation. The redundant module in slot 6 can then assume the
processing duties of a failing primary 8895SF/CPU module in slot 5. The redundancy provided
by the module in the R-slot maintains full system throughput in the event of a fabric failure.
You can install the 8895SF/CPU module in slot 3 of the 8003-R chassis. For more information,
see Avaya Ethernet Routing Switch 8800/8600 Installation — Chassis, NN46205-303.
In a chassis with multiple CPU slots, you must use 8895SF/CPU modules in all CPU slots.
This prevents scaling issues if there is a failover. You can only use the 8895SF/CPU module
with an 8692SF/CPU module during a system upgrade.
When the 8895SF/CPU module in slot 6 completes initialization, it recalculates the topology
information (Layer 2 including spanning tree groups [STG], Layer 3 including routing topology
using Routing Information Proctocol/Open Shortest Path First (RIP/OSPF), or Border Gateway
Protocol (BGP)) for the switch unless you enable High Availability mode (HA-CPU flag). High
Availability mode synchronizes all Layer 2 information to the redundant CPU, which results in
no interruption of network services. For more information about High Availability mode, see
Avaya Ethernet Routing Switch 8800/8600 Administration, NN46205-605.
The two 8895SF/CPU modules share switch fabric functions for the switch. If one 8895
SF/CPU module fails, the system reverts to operation with a single 8895 SF/CPU module.
The 8895SF/CPU supports R, RS, and 8800 modules.
Module status LEDs
The following figure shows the location of the 8895SF/CPU module LEDs.

The Switch LEDs and the CPU LEDs serve as a bar graph to indicate card activity. The Switch
bar graph increases as the switch fabric utilization increases. The CPU bar graph increases
