If you install 10GBASE-ER/EW or 10GBASE-ZR/ZW XFPs, to ensure proper switch operation,
you must also install the 8005 Power Supply.
For a list of Avaya-qualified SFPs and XFPs, see
page 57.
The 8834XG module supports Custom Auto-Negotiation Advertisements (CANA). For more
information about CANA, see Avaya Ethernet Routing Switch 8800/8600 Configuration —
Ethernet Modules, NN46205-503.
The 8834XG module copper ports support Auto-MDIX. Auto-MDIX refers to automatic
detection of the connection type (straight-through or crossover) of an attached cable. When
Auto-MDIX is active, either a straight or a crossover cable can be used to provide a connection
to a port, and the interface automatically corrects any incorrect cabling, thereby removing the
need for crossover cables to interconnect switches.
Auto-MDIX is automatically enabled when autonegotiation is enabled. If autonegotiation is
disabled, then Auto-MDIX is not active.
The following figure shows the LED locations.
