8.8.2 Prepare the instrument for long-term storage

8.8.3 Prepare the instrument for shipment

1. Carefully clean the measurement cell using an applicable organic solvent to dissolve
any residue and oil.
2. Fill the measurement cell with a new working medium.
3. Add titrant to the working medium until it becomes brown in color.
4. Check that the measurement cell is tightly installed.
5. Check the position of all the elements in the sensor holder.
6. Make sure that there is sufficient molecular sieve in the desiccant cartridges.
7. Set the instrument power to off.
Chemical exposure hazard. Obey laboratory safety procedures and wear all of the
personal protective equipment appropriate to the chemicals that are handled. Refer to the
current safety data sheets (MSDS/SDS) for safety protocols.
Use this procedure if storing the instrument for more than a week.
1. Remove the sensor from the sensor holder and disconnect it from the sensor port on
the rear of the instrument.

3. Put the sensor in a storage tube that contains a storage solution. Refer to the sensor
documentation for storage instructions.
4. From the home screen, select Maintenance > Syringe activation and empty the
contents of the syringe.
5. Carefully clean the measurement cell using an applicable organic solvent to dissolve
any residue and oil. From the home screen, select Cell management to Fill and
Empty the measurement cell.
6. Set the instrument power to off.
7. Carefully remove the tubes from the titrant and reagent bottles. Seal the bottles with
the original bottle cap.
8. Flush the pump and syringe tubes with ethanol.
9. Remove the measurement cell and the sensor holder accessories (refer to
sensor holder accessories

10. Install the glass measurement cell back onto the sensor holder for storage.
11. Empty the waste bottle and flush with ethanol.
12. If the molecular sieve from the desiccant cartridges is to be used again, keep it in an
applicable area.
Make sure that all the parts and accessories, including the desiccants, are fully dry before
starting the instrument after a period of long-term storage. This is especially true for the
measurement cell. Flush the pump and syringe tubes with ethanol.
