Engine Detail

NOTE: Disconnect the spark plug lead and remove
the electric start button before performing any
maintenance procedures.
WARNING: Improper maintenance, use of non-
conforming replacement components, or the removal
or modifi cation of the engine may cause serious injury
or death.
(Refer to fi g 4)

Filling the Engine with Oil

IMPORTANT: Your mower does not come with oil in
the engine. Before starting the engine, fi ll the engine
with oil.
1. Move the mower to a level surface.
2. Remove the dipstick (1) by rotating the cap
counterclockwise and pulling it out.
3. Slowly pour oil into the engine oil fi ll tube (3). Do
not overfi ll. After adding oil, wait one minute and
then check the oil level.
4. Insert and tighten the dipstick (1).
5. Remove the dipstick and check the oil level. Check

that the oil level is at the top of the full indicator (2)
on the dipstick.
• If the oil level on the dipstick is too low,
carefully pour a small amount of oil into the
oil fi ll tube, wait 1 minute, and repeat steps 3
through to 5 until the oil on the dipstick is at
the correct level.
• If the oil level on the dipstick is too high, drain
the excess oil until the oil on the dipstick is at
the correct level; refer to Oil Service.
6. Insert and tighten the dipstick securely.

IMPORTANT: If the oil level in the engine is too low or
too high and you run the engine, you may damage the
engine.

First Time Battery Charging

Remove the terminal strip from the battery before
inserting into the charger for the fi rst time.
The battery requires a ten (10) second wake up before
being fully charged. Refer to Before Operation - How
to Charge the Battery Pack for further information on
how to perform this operation.
