Functions and operation

General

In normal operation, a code can be entered immediately. The input starts with the
first digit and ends with the final digit of the code. The code does not need to be
confirmed.
The code entry can be canceled by pressing the X key. The code must then be
entered again.
Note!
Observe the signals: With some keyboard entries, the ESA500 / ESA501 electronic
door fitting signals special conditions or changes in status. The door fitting does
not accept keyboard entries while the signal is active. Wait until the LED has gone
out to make further entries.
If a code is entered incorrectly three times, the device is locked for 30 seconds.
The lock-out time doubles each time the code is entered incorrectly three times
in a row (one minute, two minutes, four minutes etc.). This is an effective way of
preventing unauthorized persons from running through codes. During the
lock-out time, the door fitting acknowledges each key activation with a short LED
signal. When the lock-out time is over, the signal LED lights lights up green with
two short flashes. When the correct code is entered, the lock-out time is reset to
0 seconds.

Quick start

The ESA500 / ESA501 electronic door fitting is configured with a random code and is
ready for operation right away. The pre-set code can be found at Seite 43.
