NETWORK

The Network section of the Parameters menu can be used to access all the DVR settings for accessing the Internet and the local
area network (LAN), the e-mail notification functions, the use of a DDNS (Dynamic DNS) service, and so on.
3.4.4.1

Network set

The first time concerns the settings for configuring access to the IP network by the DVR; there are three available methods for
selecting the IP address and the respective parameters:
PPPOE
DHCP
Static
The following figure shows an example of the page which appears to the user in DHCP mode
After having selected the network mode (DHCP, PPPOE or Static) and set the ports the Client Port
the DVR can be accessed in local or remotely via a local area network or the Internet.
Some parameters which are in common to all functions are available in addition to the specific parameters of each single
mode illustrated below. These are:
UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) function: If router supports UPnP function, by setting the option to Enabled,
system will automatically forward port to router, simplifying the configuration procedure to accessing a remote
device connected to the Internet.
It is possible to reach the DVR on the Internet (with or without DDNS) only if the Internet service supplier assigns a public
IP address (static or dynamic) to the router. It is therefore advisable to check this crucial detail with your Internet provider
beforehand.
DVR network parameter setup

The URMET DVR network configuration is DHCP mode by default (automatic IP address allocation):
If the network to which DVR is connected supports DHCP, simply display the parameters that the DVR

acquires automatically from the network. Wait for approximately ten seconds for the following parameters to
be allocated and appear automatically:
IP address: IP address assigned by the DHCP server to the DVR
Subnet mask
Gateway: IP address of the device (gateway or router), which allows access to the Internet
DNS1 and DNS2: addresses of the first and second DNS server used for resolving the names into IP addresses
