GENERAL INFORMATION This document describes how to install and use the URMET Hybrid DVR Series Ref. 1093/504N – Ref. 1093/508N - Ref. 1093/516N. Read this manual which contains information for correct, safe use carefully. Keep this manual at hand so that you can refer to it when needed. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION The URMET S.p.A.

WARNINGS 1.3.1 POWER Only use the power unit provided to power the device. Check mains rating before plugging the power unit in. Do not pull the cable to unplug the device. Switch the device off before unplugging power unit. This operation must not be performed when the DVR is recording, playing or from the configuration menu.

MAIN MENU All the DVR functions can be accessed from the Main Menu. If you have not logged in (Main Menu Locked mode), you will need to enter Username and Password as shown in the following figure: In <Live> mode, press the [Menu] button on the remote control to access the Main Menu interface. You can also access the Main Menu by left-clicking on the menu pop-up which appears in the lower part of the screen.
3.4.1 DISPLAY The first subsection in the Parameters section concerns screen configuration, i.e. all the settings referred to the DVR camera image display. They will be described in detail in the following paragraphs. 3.4.1.1 Analog Channels Use this menu page to enable/exclude the available analogue channels (four for model 1093/504N, eight for model 1093/508N and 16 for model 1093/516N).

Adding a user-defined camera Press this button to access the page for manually selecting and configuring the IP cameras present in the local area network (LAN); the DVR will run an automatic search and show the list of cameras in the list on the upper part of the page (the search can be run manually at any time by pressing the Search button).
3.4.1.3 Live This page of the Display menu can be used to configure the parameters related to the <Live> screen of the DVR. As shown in the following figures, the available options may be different if an analogue channel is being configured (figure on the left) or an IP camera (figure on the right).

Color Press the [Color] button to open a window on the screen for adjusting the brightness, saturation, contrast, hue and sharpness of each channel (see figure below): Explanation The modifications will be available after clicking [Save] button on the bottom of the sub-menu windows and then clicking [ok] button.
3.4.1.4 Output On this page of the Display menu you can configure the main video output parameters of the DVR. Video output: Select the video output used by the DVR; possible values: LIVE-OUT. Seq Mode: It is possible to set the Layout for the cycle function; possible values are: Layout1, Layout4, Layout9, Layout10, Layout10-1, Layout12, Layout13, Layout13-1, Layout14, Layout16, Layout19, Layout20, Layout22.
3D Noise Reduction: this is used to select the method to be employed by the camera to reduce multi- dimensional noise reduction is poor light conditions; there are three available states: Auto, Manual and Off. Level: the 3D noise reduction level. WDR (Wide Dynamic Range): this activates the dynamic compensation function between light and dark areas to increase image quality.
3.4.2 RECORD SET This subsection describes the configuration of the recording options made available by the DVR. 3.4.2.1 Record This menu can be opened by clicking on “Record” and used to set the DVR recording parameters: Channel: allow you setup the channel you desired. •...
3.4.2.3 Main Stream This menu can be used to set the main video stream configuration parameters of the DVR which is used for playback and recording on high-quality HDDs. Channel: This option allows you select one channel you desired. • Resolution: supports Video resolution, available value: 1080N, 720P resolutions WD1.
3.4.2.4 Sub Stream This page of the menu can be used to set the Sub Stream making it possible to reduce the bandwidth used for recording and playing the images. It may be used by the DVR for remote monitoring of the system. Channel: This option allows you select one channel you desired.
3.4.2.5 Mobile Stream Select Mobile Stream in the left menu to configure the parameters of the third video stream which is used for playing back on mobile devices, e.g. smartphones or tablets. The resolution in this case will be lower but on the other hand less bandwidth will be occupied on the data channel.
3.4.3 CAPTURE This subsection of the Parameters menu can be used to configure the parameters dedicated to the acquisition of images in alarm conditions and to the programming of the times during which the function must be active. 3.4.3.1 Capture (Cattura) The Capture item is used to configure the parameters for recording the images in alarm condition, the possible options are shown in the following table Channel: This is used to select the channel to be configured.
3.4.4 NETWORK The Network section of the Parameters menu can be used to access all the DVR settings for accessing the Internet and the local area network (LAN), the e-mail notification functions, the use of a DDNS (Dynamic DNS) service, and so on. 3.4.4.1 Network set The first time concerns the settings for configuring access to the IP network by the DVR;...

IP Port setup To be able to access the DVR remotely via the Internet, it is necessary to configure the function for forwarding in external router ports to the DVR. The function is usually called “Port-forwarding” or “Virtual Server” in the router configuration menu.

Check that the DDNS function is enabled and that the URMETDDNS server is selected. Click on the Get button and wait for ten seconds or so for the DVR ID to be generated. This is needed for remote access via the URMET web portal (see figure below).
3.4.4.5 RTSP This menu can be used to configure the parameters to access the video streams of the camera connected to the DVR, via the RTSP protocol. The options to be configured as shown under the following figure: RTSP Enable: this is used to enable or disable the RTSP function. •...
3.4.4.6 The last available item in the Network section concerns the configuration parameters to access a FTP server on which to load the images and the recordings acquired following an alarm detected by the DVR. The options are shown under the following figure: FTP Enable: select the required option to enable or disable operation.
3.4.5 ALARM This section is dedicated to the configuration parameters used by the DVR for recording and notifying alarms. 3.4.5.1 Motion Select Motion in the side menu to open a page where to define the methods and actions to be taken in case of motion alarm detection.
RECORD SEARCH This section can be used to access the image search functions. Click on “Record Search” on the top of the screen to open the following subsections, which are: General Events Picture 3.5.1 GENERAL Select this item to open the DVR recording search page (see the figure below). Channel: allows you select the channel(s) you desire to search.
3.5.2 EVENT SEARCH This menu item can be used to search the video recordings made by DVR following an alarm event, such as for example motion detection. After having opened the search page, similar to that shown in the figure below, the search fields can be narrowed by setting the following filters: Date: select the date from which to run the search.
3.5.3 FILE BACKUP There are three backup modes for saving the DVR recordings to file. The first is based on the date and time search and can be accessed by pressing the “Backup” button to left of the Search button. In this case, the recordings found in selected time range are saved.

3.6.1.1 HDD Set Select the item to access the settings of the Hard Disk connected to the DVR. 3.6.1.2 The page listing the main parameters can be accessed using this side menu item. When DVR is connected to a HDD, the system will automatically detect if HDD is normal or not; If the cable connected to HDD is loosen or HDD is not working correctly, HDD status will be shown as “No Disk”, or, If HDD need to be formatted, status will be shown as “no format”, otherwise, the HDD status will be shown as “Normal”.

3.6.1.4 S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) information This page can be used to control the S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) functions of the hard disks connected to the DVR. Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology or S.M.A.R.T. is a hard drive and SSD monitoring system for detecting and providing reliability indicators with the goal of anticipating faults.
3.6.2 PTZ SET To control PTZ cameras, click on PTZ (which stands for Pan Tilt and Zoom) to open the page shown in the following figure. On each channel, you can set the communication protocol, the speed and other information, as shown below: Channel: this is used to select the channel to be configured.
SYSTEM This section can be used to configure the functional parameters of system. To access, press “System” on the upper part of the screen. The following subsections will appear in the menu underneath: General Users Info 3.7.1 GENERAL SET This area contains all the general settings of the DVR. 3.7.1.1 General Select the first item in the side menu to access the general settings of the system as shown in the figure.
3.7.1.2 DST Set This function allows the daylights saving time settings. DST: this enables and disables the automatic switch to daylight saving time and vice versa. • Time Offset: number of hours to add/remove when switching to daylight saving time: the possible values are: 1 hour, •...
3.7.1.4 Users The second item in the system settings menu can be used to confirm the users who can access the DVR functions. The figure above shows the list of available users. For this model, there can be up to seven normal users and one administrator.
Permission Unlike the Administrator who has complete control of all system functions, permission can be assigned to other users or revoked to access DVR functions. To modify permission, select the required user from the list, press [Permission] to open the following page: [Admin] is authorized to set common user’s authority.
3.7.2.1 Channel Info Select the second item (Channel Info) to see the main information for each analogue or IP channel. SHUTDOWN The last item in the upper system menu can be used to shut down and reboot the system safely. All operations are protected by the DVR administrator password. Click on the menu item and in the window that opens enter user and password and click on the required operation: Shutdown: to stop recordings and shut down the system.
3.9.2 MULTI-SCREEN DISPLAY MODE Click icons on the toolbar in order to split the LIVE screen. There are many display modes in video channel, including single channel display, SEQ display and split mode. 3.9.3 STREAM SWITCH Click icon on the toolbar in order to switch the Stream Type. It is possible to select “Main Stream” and “Sub Stream” for Live/Recording settings.

PLUG-IN DOWNLOAD AND INSTALLATION WEB INTERFACE Open your web browser and input the IP address and web port of DVR, such as: http://IP Address:Web Port/. If your computer is connected to internet, it will download and install “ActiveX” Plug-in automatically. If your computer system is Vista, you may need to setup the user authority.
WEB INTERFACE DVR ACCESSING VIA IP ADDRESS, URL OR URMET DDNS ACCOUNT Follow the instructions for configuring and accessing the web pages of the device on Internet Explorer. If you tick-select < > option, that means the selected channel will playback synchronously; otherwise, you could separately control the channels playback. Thirdly, click [ ] icon to start record playback. When mouse curse is moving on the time axis, the current time will appear in the screen.
4.3.4 SNAPSHOT FUNCTION Move the mouse curse to the channel you want to capture, and click [ ] icon to capture the live images remotely. Recording streaming You can record streaming when viewing live video. Tap and then tap channel label on the bottom panel to start recording. It will keep recording on live page after start record, and can only record the channels which are viewing. Recording will stop if you close the channel or leave live page.
