1. TONE
This test is used for measuring DSC transmitting power and frequency, F1B (J2B) of MF/HF trans-
ceiver. "MARK" and "SPACE" tones are used for measuring the frequency, and "DOT" signal is
basically used for measuring the power. Select one of the tones and turn ON/OFF by pressing [ENT]
key. To bring the MF/HF transceiver into transmitting status, turn ON the handset PTT at DSC-60 side
(when REMOTE STATION is set to ON), or turn ON TX KEY in BK test.
Refer to page 6-4 and 6-6.
Pressing [CANCEL] key while keeping this "ON" state returns the screen to "Test function" screen still
keeping the "ON" state. This "ON" state is held until the settings are returned to "OFF" or the power is
turned off.
HANDSET PTT
2. BK
This test checks whether the connected units can be controlled from DSC.
"TX KEY" and "RX MUTE" signals that control MF/HF transceiver and "STANDBY" signal that
controls DB-500 are turned ON/OFF. These signals can be turned ON/OFF independently.
Pressing [CANCEL] key while keeping these "ON" states returns the screen to "Test function" screen
still keeping the "ON" states. These "ON" states are held until the settings are returned to "OFF" or the
power is turned off.
Reference)
In TONE test, if TX KEY is turned ON while outputting "MARK" tone, the MF/HF
transceiver is brought into transmitting status and the radio wave modulated by this tone
signal is emitted enabling the checking of the frequency and transmitting power.
